Every ingredient we use is meticulously selected to ensure that our dishes are not only delicious, but also sustainable and ethically-sourced.

We believe in the power of fresh, local ingredients. Our seafood is delivered daily, guaranteeing the freshest flavors. It’s not the most cost-effective method, but it’s essential for the quality we promise. We never compromise on our ingredients, ensuring that every dish we serve is a testament to the excellence of fresh produce, meat, poultry, and fish.

Our Ingredients

Seafood: Fresh imports arrive every day, never frozen except for our wild-caught shrimp.

Produce: We source our vegetables daily and weekly, ensuring they are freshly picked, often still warm from the ground. From June to September, we highlight seasonal produce in our dishes.

Meat & Poultry: Our pork chops are known for their quality, selected and prepared with care. We use organic, hormone-free chicken from Nature’s Sensation, ensuring the best for our customers.

Dairy & Eggs: Our eggs are so fresh, the yolks hold firm and are perfect for baking.

We never cut costs at the expense of quality. While many restaurants seek to reduce costs, we invest in the best ingredients to offer our patrons a superior dining experience.

Handcrafted Excellence

From our freshly baked bread, focaccia, and pita to our homemade desserts, everything is crafted in-house. Our pizzas, made from imported Caputo flour from Naples, are a testament to our dedication to authentic, high-quality ingredients.

Culinary Expertise

Arthur Touyafan, our executive chef and owner, began his culinary journey as a young boy. His family came to America from Egypt and started a small bakery. At the early age of seven, Arthur began making bread by hand in his family’s bakery. He had a love for food from the very beginning, going on to work in New York in some of the city’s most prestigious kitchens, including Union Square Cafe, The Waldorf Astoria, Gramercy Tavern, and Mondrian. Arthur brings his wealth of experience and passion from growing up and working in the city to Cafe Amici.

Community Involvement

Cafe Amici is deeply woven into the fabric of the Bergen County community. We proudly support local farms and actively engage with organizations such as bergenPAC.

Unique Dining Experiences

Join us for our exclusive Blind Tastings, where we create customized 4-6 course meals based on your dietary preferences and allergies. Priced at $60 for a 4-course meal, these tastings are available on select Fridays and Saturdays, offering a unique and intimate dining experience.
